Chairman 2011-2012 – Tim Johns

The role of Chairman is taken up by a different member each year. They are elected by the membership and act as a figurehead for the Association. They guide the CEO and staff, attend committee meetings, act as an expert spokesperson and are consulted on all significant policy decisions. The Chairman also directs Annual Conference each year.

Vice Chairman 2011-12 - Penelope Kirk

The role of Vice Chairman supports the Chairman in his or her work at the Association. They attend committee meetings, visit schools where required and also act as a spokesperson in the place of the Chairman.

Chief Executive’s Office

David Hanson, CEODavid Hanson, Chief Executive

As well as fulfilling all the functions of Chief Executive, David works with the Chairman and Council to shape the strategic direction of IAPS. David is the figurehead of the Association and offers first-line support to any member in difficulty.

Diane Kamen, PA to Chief Executive

Diane is first port of call for David Hanson, handling all his telephone calls and correspondence. She manages David’s diary, makes travel arrangements and handles all his administration. Diane is also clerk to Council and the Strategy and Sport Committees.

Jill WharfeJill Wharfe, Membership Officer

Jill handles all membership enquiries and supports the induction of new members. Her role also involves overseeing the regular inspection of IAPS schools and advising on inspection matters. Jill supports the work of the Membership Committee, which ensures professional and educational standards are maintained by IAPS members and their schools.

Education and Training Office

Julie Robinson, Education and Training Director

Julie provides educational advice and support to schools and initiates educational research and development within IAPS. She is responsible for the development of  the courses and conferences programme, working in conjunction with Larraine. Julie also works with other educational bodies to promote the interests of prep schools.

Gail Charles, PA to Education and Training Director

Gail looks after Julie’s day-to-day requirements, managing her appointments and helping to co-ordinate events. She is also committee clerk to the Education Committee and supports Larraine with courses and conferences.

Larraine supports Julie in the development of the IAPS courses and conferences programme. She works closely with Vicki, Gail and Helen to co-ordinate training. She also attends the Education Committee and is responsible for organising Annual Conference.

Helen Wycherley, Education Administrator

Helen looks after the administration for courses and conferences. She co-ordinates delegate bookings and speakers’ requirements, including handout materials. Helen is also the committee clerk for the annual Subject Leaders’ meeting and supports them in their role as part of the courses programme.

Finance and Operations Office

Richard FlowerRichard Flower, Finance and Operations Director

Richard provides bursarial and governance advice and support to schools. He is responsible for the management of the Association’s finances and directs the day-to-day operation of the Headquarters staff.  Richard works with external bodies and supports the IAPS pension scheme and IAPS charities.  Richard deputises for the CEO when required.

Tracy TurnerTracey Turner, Accounts Administrator

Tracey looks after the Association’s accounts and supervises the work of the Accounts Assistant.  She is the lead person for Copyright Licences and queries about invoices and accounts.

Zoe Brown, Accounts Assistant

Zoe assists the finance team with invoicing, making and receiving payments, purchase ledgers, banking and responding to account queries by email, phone and letter.
