David Hanson, Chief Executive of IAPS, explains:

“The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) represents the headteachers of around 600 of the world’s leading prep schools. Our members lead a variety of outstanding schools, from single-sex to co-ed; day, flexi and boarding; those with particular religious affiliations; those that offer excellent provision for children with special educational needs and those with world-class reputations in the fields of music, sport or academia.

“I began my career as a secondary school teacher in the state sector and I have since worked across primary and secondary schools, in independent schools, state schools and academies and I believe that independent prep schools truly stand out for the following reasons:
