Mission Statement
What is a prep school?

Prep school is short for 'preparatory', since the pupils are being prepared for senior school. On the evidence, there is no doubt that an independent prep school education provides the best foundation in the early and middle years (0-13) to maximise children's future educational opportunities preparing them for senior school, university entrance and beyond.

Essentially prep schools are the middle and primary schools of the independent sector. Many also have pre-prep and nursery sections and so can take children from 2 years old. Pupils will leave prep schools to join senior schools at age 11, 12 or 13+. There is great flexibility in the system, which means that the varying needs of individual children can be met.
